I’m a self-taught student of creativity. I learned everything through a mixture of total immersion and online tutorials to fill knowledge gaps while part of a small team. I was lucky to be given the time in previous job roles to learn the majority of what I know. I am always looking to expand my knowledge by learning new software, skills and styles. Every day is a school day!

Backstory

I started drawing and creating stuff early on in life. This was kindled by kids’ TV shows like Art Attack! and Danish block-builders such as LEGO. I also loved the stop frame animation style of Nick Park (Wallace & Gromit) as a kid, and frequently tried to replicate their animations myself with plasticine and pipe-cleaners to little success. As I have grown up I have dabbled and experimented in many different professions. This has given me eclectic experience and also reassurance in that I am happiest myself in a creative role.

I have been described as Quirky by others more than once. I’m not entirely sure if that is good or not. I guess I have to take it as a compliment. I enjoy meeting new people, conversing and pushing social interactions to create positivity. There’s nothing better than a quality conversation between two humans. I am also a bit of a perfectionist and occasionally obsessive, but I’m nice enough…

I enjoy learning new skills both professionally and as a hobby. I love canoeing on hot summers days and stopping for cold drinks at a halfway point. I enjoy hiking in the pouring rain and the pub lunch around a fire that follows it. I enjoy the fresh alpine air, amazing vistas and hot chocolates associated with skiing. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and having good memorable times that you can look back on and smile or laugh about.

I still enjoy picking up the guitar, building loops and jamming along. It’s a great creative outlet. I’m a fairly good gamer and usually come above the half-way point on end of match scoreboards. I also love recording and producing funny videos for my friends and I to enjoy.
